Upgrade stuck in configuration phase.

We are stuck in configuration phase during upgrade BW system to NW 7.01

from NW 7.3.

I have selected ST-PI & ST-A/PI add-on. ST-PI target release showing

but ST-A/PI it's showing "?" , when process with this SUM could not

find, ST=PI & ST-A/PI patches under EPS folder. I have copied manually

ST related patches under EPS folder.

Also i have try update patches useing SPAM but getting error "Currently

runs an update process started by the Software Update Manager

Hi Sandeep,

Please check for the permission and size of these files. Might be they are courrpt.

Also, it's only about ST-Pi and A/PI, do not use SUM. Use SPAM/SAINT to apply patch.

Do you have ST-A/PI installed on your system before you tried patching it with SUM ?

Also, from where did you generate the XML file ?

Hi Sandeep,

Please re-extract all the patches and copy it to /EPS/in and repeat the upgrade phase.

It should work.

ST-A/PI alredy installed i the SAP system with 0 level 7 & XML generated using solution mmanager system.

Please check the size of patch, it seems that your patch is corrupt, re-download and extract.

Follow the SAP note 69455 - Servicetools for Applications ST-A/PI (ST14, RTCCTOOL, ST12) and download the package and extract it to DIR_TRANS/EPS/in

You should bind the ST-A/PI patch to your upgrade as already suggested by and .

You just have to repeat the current step.

After putting the new downloaded extracted ST-A/PI file in EPS/in, try again from SUM where it was stuck.

You shouldn't patch the system using SPAM/SAINT, just extract the files and re-execute the upgrade phase. You have to tell SUM that the tool should look for new packages in EPS inbox.

I think your SUM process is still running, please check at OS level first that is there any SUM process running if it is then please cancel this first and then try to update once.

If you just cancel the process, I think it wouldn't work as well. You would need to reset the upgrade - but you can also bind the ST-A/PI patches in this phase.
