AD Upgrade from Windows Server 2003 to Windows Server 2008 R2

Dear SAP Experts,

We have active directory server (ADS) that run in windows 2003 and connect to our enterprise portal (NW 7.31 running ESS application). We are planning to upgrade the ADS to windows 2008 R2, the question is, any issue regarding this plan? especially about connection between portal and ADS 2008 R2 ? Will it be compatible with our existing portal? Any specific steps needs to be taken care to avoid complication post upgrade of ADS server.

Hello Deeraj

As you only upgrading the Windows to 2008 R2 on the server where AD is setup then there shouldn't be any problem. As long as the portal is able to communicate with the AD portal should work.
