Hi Ryan,
I am not able to run Wonderware Intouch UDS. Whenever the UDS is started, the error is given that Unable to start UDS.
The UDS settings for Intouch are as given below:
Datasource: Value=INTOUCHUDS.Datasource:Required-Yes
Port: Value=8891:Required-Yes
Debug: Value=False:Required-No
Cachemode: Value=None:Required-No
Synchronize: Value=False:Required-No
Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Intouch Version: 9.0
UDS Version:2.5.0.4
Please help me to solve this problem.
Thanks & Regards,
Ganesh Wani
Martin,
I have verified that
The UDS framework version is 2.5.0.4 and InTouch UDS is also installed.
The UDS and the UDS framework are installed on the same machine as the InTouch server.
InTouch is running before the UDS instance.
But same error is given.
One more query, is there any connection of this error with PC admin rights.

Ganesh,
The only way I can reproduce this error is if the InTouch UDS wasn't correctly installed, or the regestry gets corrupt. So here are more questions:
1.) Did you remotely install this? We've noticed that remote installs somethines create virtual enviroments that are cleaned up once the user leaves the session.
2.) Did you attempt to install as a non-administrator? If so, I'm fairly sure that this may cause issues with the install.
3.) Try to remove both the UDS and the UDS Admin and re-install (physically on the machine and with an admin user). Does the issue still appear?
Martin
PS: Hey where is you solution to this Ryan... Yeah thought so...
Hi Martin,
You are right, the UDS & InTouch UDS were installed remotely. So I have followed the same steps you suggested:
1. Uninstalled the UDS Admin & InTouchUDS
2. Copied the UDSFramework_2_5_0_4 & INTOUCHUDS_2_5_0_0 installable on my machine.
3. Reinstalled the UDS Admin & InTouchUDS with admin rights.
After completing the InTouchUDS installation, an error was given that
'One or more files did not properly self-register.
Following files did not properly self-register:
1. C:\WINDOWS\system32\INTOUCHUDS.dll The specified module could not be found.'
What should be done to resolve this self-register error?

I'm trying to connect XMII with the INTOUCHUDS by the following way:
c:\Windows\system32\LUDSAPP.EXE "Paladini"
After the Wonderware Intouch application is running OK, then I want to execute the command line, this following error apear: "DataSource ProgID not provided".
The version of UDS Administrator is 2.5.0.4.
The UDS Framework and the UDS INTOUCH were installed localy and I logged with
Administrator privileges.
Can Anyone help me?
Thanks, Lionel
Martin:
The information of the configuration of the UDS Admin application is:
DataSource: INTOUCHUDS.DataSource
Port: 9002
Debug: False
CacheMode: None
Synchronize: False
When click in the "Configure Aliases" Button, I can see the Tag´s Groups of the Wonderware Intouch that is running, but the UDS doesn´t go play.
Thank, Lionel

Can someone please tell me how to fix this error.
And what all other things i need to give for the other parameters such as

Ganesh,
Just to verify, you installed the UDS framework version 2.5.0.4 and did you install the InTouch UDS? (they are in two different installes). Also, the UDS and the UDS framework must be installed ont he same machine as the InTouch server, so please verify that too.
Lastly (as mentioned above), InTouch IS running before the UDS instance (the command line app) starts, correct?

Well I'm not Ryan but here is your problem.
You have to run the InTouch UDS as an exe and not a service. To do this you must run the LUDSApp.exe with the UDS instance name after it.
To run this simply type:
LUDSAPP.exe <instanceName>
in a command line.
Also make sure InTouch is running.
