Sales BOM for configurable material in main item and sub-item

Dears,

   i need to have sales BOM with configurable material in both main item and sub items. i know how to manage sales BOM with LUMF and ERLA, but SAP standard setting is for normal items not configurable. i read some documents but the more i read, the more i get confused. i should mention that the configuration of main item in BOM does not affect the sub items. i mean the only configuration for main item is color, and this characteristic does not affect the sub-item in BOM. for sub-items is also same, means the characteristic for sub-items also does not affect sales BOM (i need single level explosion in sales BOM)

variant configuration can be activated both at Main item and sub-item,initially you need to decide at which you maintain the Inventory and pricing
