SAP CI Installation - Oracle installer missing

Hi Experts,

I relised that the oracle file (11203) is missing (looks like not properly extracted) when i want to install Oracle 11.2g as below error.

Installation Results

. (ERROR) - Oracle Database software installation finished with errors.

. The Oracle executable /oracle/IEP/11203/bin/oracle is empty or does not exist.

. Possible cause(s): link error, installation was cancelled or interrupted, or fatal error.

. (INFO) - You can find the installation summary log at /oracle/IEP/11ginstall_11203.log

. (EXIT) - Exiting with exit code 2.

Can I copy the file 11203 from other server to paste it in the server to continue the installation?

Please advise if you have any idea?

The system is ECC 6.0 EHP4.

The problem is due to the owner for /oracle not set to oraSID:dba.

How was Oracle installed? using RUNINSTALLER?

And no, I would suggest you install Oracle the way SAP recommends...and not just copy files

Are you able to see the Oracle Installer GUI when you start the RUNINSTALLER ?

If not then set the DISPLAY and try.

Yes. I have confirmed that I have set the DISPLAY for this.

the log is telling me that cannot find the folder 11203 and i cant find it as OS level as well.

it might be a small thing...but: it seems you used the runInstaller instead on the RUNINSTALLER which lies under SAP (/oracl/stage/112_64/database/SAP):

Did you exchange the SAP directory using patch 11ginstall-11203-039-complete.zip (or similar) before starting RUNINSTALLER? Are you trying to update the Oracle software?

Delete the files under /oracle/IEP/11203 and follow the installation guide for installing the Oracle.

I would not suggest copying the file from another machine as there is a possibility that there might be more files missing.

Sorry, it should be no folder - 11203 created under /oracle/IEP/  . Looks like the Installation steps failed to create this folder and extract data into this folder.

Do you think is good to re-run the installation from old option again?

If you don't have a file system called /oracle/IEP/11203 then make sure you have sufficient space in /oracle/IEP (approx 7 to 10 GB) and also create the directory called /oracle/IEP/11203

ln -s /oracle/IEP/11203 /oracle/IEP/112_64
