Word attachments do not open in NWBC Desktop Client

Hi all,

We're experiencing a weird issue for two of our users with the desktop version of the netweaver business client.

The system can open PDF documents directly, but when they try to open a word document, they get the file download popup where they can open or save the documents. When they select open or save, nothing happens.

In the web version of the NWBC in internet explorer, they do not have this issue.

Anyone got a clue?

In which application, transaction, program, etc. are you opening the documents? Is SAP GUI involved? Make sure you use the same URL for both clients, it has to be a fully qualified domain name and it has to be included in the intranet (local) or trusted security zone of Internet Explorer.

We're using the webdynpro recruiter interface for displaying the candidate's profile.

The same url (fully qualified) is used in both clients.

The trusted sites are managed by group policy and cannot be adapted by the users. Most of them can open the word document, but 2 of them are unable to do so.

If it is working for all but 2 users, then it  is unlikely that this will be resolved in the forum. You are welcome to post here, but your best bet is to open an OSS message. Sorry I cant be more helpful.
