Hi
I have one document type and need this following INTERNAL number range:
TA001 to TA999 for example (TA001...TA002...TA003....TA999)
Can you help me?
Regards
Hi,
You should use external no range and assign it to your doc type. Use BADI DOCUMENT_NUMBER01 for your specific no range generation. Discuss with your developer.
Also go thru the link as Deepak suggest in his reply.

Hi FCB,
You can make use of external number range along with some exit definition to achieve alpha numeric number range configuration.
You may refer sap help in the link below on the configuration
Define number ranges for document numbers - Document Management System - SAP Library
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Are you looking for step-by-step process or you are having some issue configuring this?

Hi,
The number range object does not allow to overlap the number ranges. So you will not be able to have identical number ranges.
Why do you want this type of configuration?
DMS is having only one number range object 'Dokument'. If you are looking for number ranges document type wise, then you need to create new number range objects with ranges and maintain a table with document type & NR object. Use this table in the customised number exit which can be configured in the document type.
You need to copy & modify the standard number exit 'MCDOK..'( I do not remember the exit name, you can find this in the SAP delivered document types).
Regards,
Ravi
