We are running BW 7.4 SP5, 2 separate stacks for Java and ABAP.
Now we are upgrding the kernel patch level of ABAP system ,is their any dependcy & we need to update java as well ?
Please suggest how will upgrade the kernel fo java system as of now there is no JSPM in NW 7.4.
Please sugegst and guide me
Advance Thanks
Hello
What matters is the release of the SAP systems and not the kernel patch level.
You can update the kernel of the J2EE system in the same way you do update the kernel on an ABAP stack. I believe the kernel update can be done using SUM but I have never tried so I cannot confirm that.

Hi,
Also for single Java stacks it's the disp+work package from the kernal that you want to apply. (which you can do via SUM).

Hello,
Please try to keep SAP Kernels versions as newer as possible for all SAP systems.
You can manually upgrade SAP Kernel files(Same way you are doing for ABAP)
Please let me know if you have any other question.
Thank you

Hi,
You can do it in the same way you did for abap.
Also, u can do it using SUM manually.
JSPM direct interaction is no more in 7.4.
