Setting retention periods for periodic archival and deletion jobs

Hello Gurus

A month back our PI production system was reaching its data limit. We set up archival and deletion jobs and saved a lot of database space.

Now we want to schedule periodic archival and deletion jobs. Just want to know what parameters are to be considered for the interfaces while setting the retention periods.

Do interfaces need to be classified?

Can different interfaces have different retention periods?

How to decide retention periods? filters, parameters, etc....

I know business decides retention periods. I just want to get the right direction. I am setting this up for the first time....

Would appreciate all the help i can get!!

Regards,

Xineohpi.

You didnt mention what system you are using. Because it is diffirent for Dual/Single stack. Please see the links below for both.

Hi Jannus

Thanks for the links.. but still does not clear my query. I guess have to take it up with the BAs. They could decide the retention periods and i could use the same.
