Portal File upload - Document type since MCM installation

Hello,

since we have installed SAP Mobile Document we have a new field - document type - when we do a New File Upload in the Portal:

2 questions:

1. what is the meaning of document types in the proposed list box ?

2. for normal (current) user that haven't MCM role this new field is unexpected.  We'll surely have question about it.  How to hide and have default value to have same scenario with standard KM (without MCM installed) ?

Dear Vincent,

Here are the answers of your questions:

1. In the MCM case, additional KM Resource/Document Types had to be created and they are used by the application. I don't think there's need to explain about the resource types in details, but You can find information here: Resource Types - Knowledge Management - SAP Library

2. We will fix the issue so the KM end users will not be able to see the MCM related resource types unless you want them to, but for now you can use the following workaround:

• Log into the SAP NetWeaver portal with System Administrator user and go to: System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Services -> Resource Types and look for 'MCM Public Link', 'MCM Share', 'MCM Shared Object', 'Settings Document', 'Shared Document' and 'Shared Folder'';

• On each and every of the upper-mentioned configuration objects You must mark the 'Reserved for Application' field to checked.
