Is importer of Record and Declarant same? I see SAP standard EI creation functional module pull the IOR from Declarant partner (CUSANM)
Thank you Dave. It is helpful.

Hi Amartya,
It's entirely dependent on how the business has chosen to operate. I guess you're talking about Imports into the USA, and here's a definition from one trade authority:
---------------------------
What is the definition of an Importer?
The U.S. Customs Service defines "importer" as a person primarily liable for the payment of duties on the merchandise, or an authorized agent acting on the importer's behalf. The importer may be: (a) a consignee, (b) the importer of record, or (c) the actual owner of the merchandise if the actual owner has filed with Customs a declaration acknowledging ownership along with a superseding bond.
What is an Importer of Record?
The U.S. Customs Service defines the importer of record as the owner or purchaser of the goods; or, when designated by the owner, purchaser, consignee or a licensed Customs Broker.
---------------------------
So, you need to get a clear idea from the business on who they recognise as the Importer of Record, and then configure the system in that way.
Regards,
Dave
