After setup name server from SLD name prefix is still unavailable from nwds

Hi there

Although the nameserver is setup from the SLd, our developper team has told me that it does not work.

One of them has showed me from nwds, and I do not know how to fix it.

The name list is still unavailable from nwds while New Development Component creation:

Does anyone have any idea ?

Thanks,

Hi,

as mentioned it should be possible to display it using the "Download Development Configuration" button in CM Services webui.

Thanks Ervin,

I have display the xml configuration file from the cm services webui.

But there is no name-server entry.

I have added it this xml file. Now I would like to put this xml file in right folder on nwdi server side.

But I can not find the right folder on OS.

Hi,

it does not work like that. You need to make sure the sld nameserver is maintained properly, and then if you refresh the development config (by resaving it) then it will update that xml with the nameserver url.

Can you see the SLD maintained on the same screen on the tab "System Landscape Directory" ?

Ok Ervin,

Now I have an error when I try to save the configuration for CM Services web ui :

Unable to save development configuration: "Unable to register / update name server "http://sld01:50000/sld/cimom" with user "NWDI_DEV" on repository "http://nwddev1:50000/dtr" using user "NWDI_DEV" [DICONF_REGISTERNAMESERVER]: CONFLICT [(pre||post)-condition failed: x:invalid-name-reservation-data]

I do not understand.

Hi,

have a look at this note:

1056333 - x:invalid-name-reservation-data when you save a track in CMS

Hi JY,

this other note might be useful too:

#1583839 - Saving a track fails with "x:invalid-name-reservation-data"

So again, the two notes to be checked this case:

#1583839 - Saving a track fails with "x:invalid-name-reservation-data"

#1056333 - x:invalid-name-reservation-data when you save a track in CMS

Ervin,

I have opened the xml configuration file, but there is not entry name-server entry type.

We have also try an update from nwds but this no change occurs.

Hi,

then first you need to achieve that the server side xml includes the name-server entry.

You should make an attempt to re-save your development config. If there is no way to do it on the CM Services webui, then perhaps it has to be done on abap-end.

Cheers,

Hi,

yes, there you should see the nameserver.

Proceed this way: Go to CMS webui -- Landscape Configurator -- Track Data -- select the track in question from the left hand side table -- RE-SAVE the track (Change and Save).

This action will update the server side development configuration.

Once the track is resaved, doublecheck the changes in the devconfig XML you can access on the Track Data -- tab Build Variants -- Display Development Configuration. An XML file will be opened where you should have an entry for nameserver. It'll look like

name-server-url="http://<your host:your port>/sld/cimom"

If it is correct, then open your NWDS and remove and re-import the development configuration.

Or try to trigger "Update" on it as you can see in the blog I sent you, but if that does not work then remove and reimport.

Check again the settings you have showed me recently on the screenshot, this time the "Name Server" on the Component Properties should not be empty any more.

I hope this helps. Let me know the results.

Thank you and Regards,
Ervin

Ervin

We do not use track configuration but "CM Services".

There is no XML file link

Hi,

if you go to the CM Services webui (/devinf -- CM Services) then there is a link "Download Development Configuration" right next to the "Create New..." button.

Could you please send a screenshot where I can see what do you mean by nameserver empty?

Do you mean the nameserver when you import the development configuration?
