Hi all,
I'm trying to create a WD DC. I have created my own product and software component on SLD and also my own track including my software component. After this I have successfully imported the development configuration into my NWDS and then I've tryed to create a new DC. Immediately after the prompts for the name of the component and the activity the system shows me a message saying:
<i>Development component Creation completed with some problems.
Reason:
Some used DCs are not available locally.
You have to sync used DCs for this project.</i>
How can I solve this?
Thanks in advance,
Stefano Cattaneo
Hi Stefano,
In the Development COnfiguration Perspective, on the left there's a view where you can see the active DCs. It should contain at least these SC entries: SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS and SAP-JEE (and on NW04s optionally EP_BUILDT). You can select all DCs in the SCs, right click and choose Sync Archives. In case these 3 or 4 SCs are not visible, in SLD you need to configure them as being required components of your own SC, then update CMS, your track and import them etc. (I should check the details)
BTW, in the same perspective, the SCs I mentioned, and a few more, are visible under Local Development? If not, NWDS is not installed correctly. There used to be an issue when installing NWDS <u>from</u> a relatively long path. I usually install from C:\IDE\<setup.exe>
Kind regards,
Sigiswald

Hi Sigiswald and thanks for your reply.
As you said I haven't the SAP_BUILDT, SAP_JTECHS and SAP-JEE in the Active DCs window of the Development Configuration Perspective but I've got them in the Local DCs window under Local Development.
I'm gone to the SLD, I've selected my Software Component and I've inserted in the tab Dependencies for the context "Installation time" the 3 component you mention.
After this I'm gone to the CMS and I've updated CMS under Domain data tab, then I've opened NWDS and I've reimported the configuration but nothing changed... where am I wrong?
Thanks,
Stefano
Hi Stefano,
OK, that's a good start
CMS > Landscape Configurator > Track Data
Are the required software components listed?
CMS > Transport Studio > Check-In
Are the required software components listed? And checked in? Then they become visible in the development system import queue and you need to import them. You can verify the System State tab.
Finally, I noticed when making these kind of changes, it sometimes takes quite some time (4 hours?) before they become visible in NWDS.
Kind regards,
Sigiswald
Hi Sigiswald,
I really hope to continue this way
CMS > Landscape Configurator > Track data
The components are listed.
CMS > Transport Studio > Check-In
The components are not listed.
I've added the required components also for the context "Build time" in the dependencies tab of my software component, reactivated all, and now I can see the required component in the Active DC window of Development Configuration perspective in NWDS. Anyway when I try to create a new DC I continue to get the same error message!
I've seen that when I search the required component in SLD I get more than one result for the same SWComp name, now I've added only the 7.0 version of each component, is it right?
Stefano
Hi Stefano,
I checked our configuration. In SLD, the Dependency Context should be BuildTime (only; we didn't define InstallationTime).
To see the SCs in CMS > Transport Studio > Check-In, you need to put the sca files in the "inbox" directory on the file system. See also [url=http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/24/78303136c1418ebe1f235c7b3b444d/frameset.htm]Checking In Software Component Archives[url]. I don't know where the default inbox directory is exactly located. But if you can't find it on your file system you can just configure a new directory.
Yes, in SLD, you only need to define the dependencies once, that is your own SC should depend on the correct version (depending on your run time system) of the required SCs. If you're using NW04s then indeed it's the 7.0 version. BTW, regarding this subject, also check these (sometimes related) notes 932567, 946608 (removed?), 993531 and 993799.
Kind regards,
Sigiswald
Hi Sigiswald,
as you can see I'm still facing the problem :-(((
I've decided to follow this SAP online help instructions <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/73/128042ebd6b767e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">Template-Based Basic Configuration of Usage Type DI</a> but the template installation also fails on Import Build Plugin phase. The error message is the following:
<i>Element 'SAPConfigLib.P01.Unclassified.configureCms':!BrokerImport.import_of_element_failed!!BrokerImport.Fehler!com.sap.tc.lm.ctc.cul.cpi.exceptions.CPIBaseException: <Localization failed: ResourceBundle='com.sap.tc.lm.ctc.cul.cpi.CPIResourceBundle', ID='com.sap.tc.lm.ctc.cul.cpi.BaseException_BASE_EXCEPTION', Arguments: []> : Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key com.sap.tc.lm.ctc.cul.cpi.BaseException_BASE_EXCEPTION:com.sap.tc.lm.ctc.provider.javaServiceProvider.JavaServiceWriter.writeElement!BrokerImport.LINE!157-:com.sap.tc.lm.ctc.cul.broker.BrokerImport.importElement.86

Hope u can help me again.
Stefano
Unfortunately I never used the Template Installer...
I suggest you create the <i>D:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in\CMSnetsap29P01 directory</i> manually.
But I bet you found the inbox directory: <i>D:/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in</i> Just copy the 3 sca files in this directory and they should become visible in the Check-In tab of CMS Transport Studion.
Correction: the inbox directory is configured at CMS > Landscape Configurator > Domain Data > Transport Directory
Kind regards,
Sigiswald

Hi Sigiswald,
I've created the directory CMSnetsap29P01 manually and after this the Template installer ends successfully but it seems it hasn't imported nothing.
Anyway now that the template installer has configured my landscape (with a track called DEMO) I will try to build a new DC and look if it fails... if so I will try to import the file suggested manually as you described and as described in this page <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/44/733fc64f2f5918e10000000a1553f7/content.htm">"SCAs for the Build Process"</a>.
I will let you know!
thanks for your time,
Stefano
