Difference between T1 and T2 movements?

Hello Experts,

What is The difference between T1, T2 and TIR movements in transit process? Where  do we assign them to movements in transit process?

Hi Vamshi,

Below is the required explanation for the above mentioned documents.

  • T1 Documents:- This is for the movement of non-community goods for which custom duties and other charges at import are at stake i.e not charged. These documents are used for external community transit and just pass through a territory to the final country destination where final Customs duties and other changes will be charged.

  • T2 Documents:- This is for the movement of free circulation goods within the community for which the duties and other charges had been paid at the place of entry itself.

  • TIR document:- Abbrev. for International Road Transport . It serves the same purpose as above but with a greater geographical area. As per this document, the goods movement can take place freely under a single TIR carnet document within the European Council for all the actions/movements not confined to EU itself.
