standalone SLD Instalaltion

Hi All,

We have requirement to install standalone SLD system.

Please correct me If I am wrong below.

1) standalone sld is part of the NW CE 7.4 suite(if we install NW CE 7.4 CE it will install)

Please suggest and one having idea or how to install .

Hi,

SLD is a part of any JAVA installation.

For any SLD, two usage types are required:

Application Server Java, and

NW Product Description

Which are by default in nature for JAVA as SLD is one of the Functional Units of AS JAVA.

If you want to use NW 7.4 for this, select NW AS JAVA in SWMP and proceed.

Once installed, goto host:port/sld to take it further.

Thanks for ur prompt response ,with out NW 7.4 CE is it possible to direcly install sld 7.4 and where we can select the media and how can we find the guides

Hi, This is very simple.

Every time when we setup Application Server(AS) JAVA as a usage type.

Following basic functional units of JAVA are there by default:

System Landscape Directory

Services Registry

Java Foundation

Java Data Archiving

CM Services (Change Management Services)

XML Data Archiving Service

So, which ever version NW AS Java you install, SLD will be there.

But since, I assume, this is going to be your central SLD, for for the latest NW version.

Simple.

No it's not mandatory to go with CE version. You can go with any version of netweaver.

Thank you so much for your prompt reponses .

Finally Please confirm me on below if any thing wrong and correct me.

1) I need to download any NW media from service market place ( as of now newer version SAP NW 7.4 SR1--I am  considering NW 7.4 SR1)

2) Through SWPM --I need to select must Application server JAVA

3)I need to select the usage type as Application Server Java, and NW Product Description

4)after finsihing the installtion goto host:port/sld and do the what ever configurations required for business senario.

Please correct me any thing wrong above andif u can add any thing missedafter confirming you I will start the activity .

Yes, I think so. Just go with AS JAVA. That would be sufficient.

Once you are done with the setup, there are many good docs with SAP to get your work done.

Hi Basis,

Please have a look into chapter 2 of below document.

It has a mentioned on different installation options for SLD
