Proxy Definition

Hi All,

I am new to SAP PI. I want to know what is PROXY, because when  i'm googling i didn't get the exact info. Moreover i'm confused with the terminology i.e proxy, proxy adapter, proxy communication channel and how it related to RFC. So i want to know first what is proxy and how it works in PI.

Any one how knows it please explain me in simple way or have any document please send me

Hi,

In order to communicate with SAP systems below protocols supports.

IDOC,RFC,PROXY,FILE

For Proxy communication will use XI adapter in PI .sender side we don't require this because message directly come to Integration engine by passing AE .Receiver side we do require.
