Hi experts,

I am trying to install EHP7 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 IDES version on Linux (SLES11 SP3) with Oracle DB using SWPM. Linux is a ESxi guest with 24GB RAM, swap size is 20GB.

Installation was running smoothly until phase Starting Instance. I was trying with cleanipc, restart and changing parameters in /etc/security/limits.conf and kernel parameters /etc/sysctl.conf but with no success. I was not able to find a solution for problem in discussions, please advice.

Please find dev_disp,dev_w0 and trans log files attached.

Best regards, Igor

Hello

A  PXA INITIALIZATION

A Fri Jun 13 22:06:41 2014

A  System page size: 4kb, total admin_size: 189028kb, dir_size: 46468kb.

I  *** ERROR => shmat(22216752,0x(nil),SHM_RND) (12: Cannot allocate memory) [shmux.c      1586]

Follow the recommendation provided in the SAP note for the above error.

941735 - SAP memory management for 64-bit Linux systems

Info: em/initial_size_MB( 16822MB) not multiple of em/blocksize_KB( 4096KB)

<ES> Info: em/initial_size_MB rounded up to 16824MB

Also try to reduce the value for the parameter em/initial_size_MB (if the note doesn't help).

Regards

Benjamin, thank You very much for Your support!

I changed parameter em/initial_size_MB  to value 8192, and installation continued.

Best regards, Igor
