Material - General Data no Picture shown

Hi experts,

I want to see the added JPG at an material in the General Data view in PLM WebUI like this:

I cant find an solution to add the JPG to this view can someone help me please?

Hi Pascal,

you can attach a document (DIR) to the material on the Documents tab. The system will convert the image and show it on the General Data screen as a thumbnail. For this you need a workstation application which can handle images (like for JPG).

Logistics - General -> Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) -> Document Management -> General Data -> Set Up Workstation Application for Thumbnails (Images)

You can also make some customizing settings here:

Logistics - General -> Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) -> PLM Web User Interface -> Objects in PLM Web UI -> Document in PLM Web UI -> Define Search Sequence for Viewable File

An document (JPG) is already added to the material.

I did the following cutomizing but there isnt a picture yet in General Data:

did you add the document with document type RDS?

Have you done it before or after the customizing change?

Hi Pascal,

You can alternatively change the Thumbnail to the Viewer in your customizing. For this you also need the SAP Visual Enterprise Viewer installed to your computer.

Did you maintain the workstation application for JPG?

In Define Workstation Application:

Type   Application     Application type     Description     Application path

PC     JPG              1                           JPG               %auto%

Hi Tamas,

I have installed the SAP Visual Enterprise Viewer and he works fine with Display Document -> Originals Processing.

The workstation application ist defined and I did the customizing in CVAW_CUST.

But I still dont get any view of the document in the General Data mask.

Hi Pascal,

you can check the following customizing if it is set to auto start for document type/application:

Document Management under   -> Visual Enterprise Generator -> Maintain Conversion Trigger

auto start is checked.

I think it must be an issue in the PLMWUI customizing because in the SAP GUI the thumbnail in the document is shown.

Are there any precondition for the view of the picture?

Maybe there is something missing in my System

Hi Tamas,

I solved the issue.

The problem wasnt in the customizing of the viewer.

Tehre was an problem by checking in the JPG by the WEBUI. If I chech in the JPG with Easy Document Manager the thumbnail is shown.
