Unarchive Inventory

  Hello,

we have ran into an issue, were we want to check the assembly status of an SFC. Prior to that it is checked if the SFC is archived or not.

If thats the case the SFC including the SFC_ASSY date is unarchived.

Unfortunately the Inventory data is not unarchived. I haven't found any chance to unarchive Inventory records. Is there a workaround or different approach?

Can I check with the PAPI if the inventory exists in the archive tables?

What version of ME are you using? There has been a fix for this in patch 16 of version 6.1.4  - see

SAP note 2027446

In addition, you can determine if the Inventory is in archive by looking at the ID_USED table, so there probably is a PAPI for that.

we are currently on 6.1.4.4, so I think this will be the solution for my problem.

Hello Stuart,

one more question on this fix. I just manually archived the parent SFC via the GUI and the inventory ids were not archived. Is this related to the setting in System Rule Maintenance or is this also a problem which is fixed in 6.1.4.16?

Yes, there have been a few fixes in this area, including not archiving at all and archiving too soon.
