Dought on SAP Hana & SAP Hana Cloud Platform

Dear folks,

I am beginner to the SAP HANA. I have a dought regarding SAP HANA & SAP HANA CLOUD Platform.

Is SAP HANA & SAP HANA CLOUD Platform same ??? Please clarfy.

I will tell you the reason why I got this dought. Since long I had plans to learn SAP HANA, but recently in Open.Sap.com there is free online training classes going on the course Introduction to SAP HANA CLOUD Platform (Repeat)  I hope you people aware about this.I have enrolled for this training classes.

So, here I got the dought that whether SAP HANA & SAP HANA CLOUD Platform same or not.

Could you please some one explain me both are these same or not ? treat me as a layman and explain.

SAP HANA is a in memory appliance which is combination of software and hardware together and

SAP Hana Cloud Platform, the in-memory Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering from SAP, enables customers and developers to build, extend, and run applications on SAP HANA in the cloud.

So There is no technical difference,I mean to say , SAP Hana Cloud Platform is offer HANA on cloud.
