Security Restrictions on Chats and Discussions

Hello Gurus,
Are there ACLs available to control Chat feature inside the Auction.
Need to control the Chats based on Security Profiles for the folks added in the collaborator section.

The need of the hour is to check if collaborators added into the Auction should not have the ability to chat, if the Event owner decides so.IS this possible, if yes how? thanks Tridip

Hi Tridip,

There are no permissions associated with Chat.  Chat is turned off or on at the Auction Type level.  If it's turned on, it's on for all collaborators on the Auction.

There are permissions associated with Discussions.  If you go to Security in Setup, you'll see that there are ACLs for Discussions in the Business Documents section.

Typically, the number of collaborators added to an Auction is limited to those running the Auction.  If there are many stakeholders that have an interest, then often those running the Auction will schedule a conference room and project the Auction so everyone can see but they are not given access.  Is this an option for you?

Thanks a lot for the resolution remarks Rosemary, the only issue I see for the ACL related to discussions is that its at the Application user level and if we place it here, it affects everyone, need to test this though, thanks Tridip
