Hi there,
I would like to if some one could explain me the logic behind the numbering of objects when they are in SAP MDG staging area and afterwards when they are replicated to SAP ECC. Is it a temp. number first and then a real one after replication? Or is MDG taking a number and when it is not activated the number will be unused in the future?
THX
Best Regards.

Hi Per,
When the 'record/master data request' is in the staging area MDG assigns a temporary number with '$' infront of the number once the Change request gets activated or the master data record is ready to replicate to the downstream system then a new number is assigned to the master data record which is maintained in SNRO transaction.
The Number ranges are maintained in transaction SNRO.
thank you,
Parvez

Dear Moller,
The number ranges are defined in SNRO as mention below
Object Interval number From Number To Number
MDG_BS_MAT 01 000000000000000 19999999999999999
USMD_CRIDX 1 000001 999999
USMD_CREQ 01 000000000001 999999999999
the number are assing to CR still they are in staging area tem. and when it get activated it get the permanent number based on the setting defined for each material type.
Once you activate the material, the number will be permanant and the same number are replicated.MDG will not send the data which is in staging and it dosnot make any sense to do that either.
Yes,the number is unused when the Material is not activated and when ever the New CR is created the system will allocate the next number.
