Hi All,

I  have a requirement in outbound process,

Picking process is automated , after picking completion boxes passes through convoyer belt.  in this for some products we need to put price tags.

It can be for some customers or dead stock or clearence stock we sell with discont price. so for printing tags is not for all products .

How we can achieve this through VAS order process.

Give me your suggestions please.

Thanks in advance

balu.

Hello,

I would feel VAS is better process to meet your requirement. You can find below comments on How to implement VAS.

To Implement VAS, below link will give you better details:

Value-Added Services (VAS) - SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) - SAP Library

Implementation Guide (IMG) for Extended Warehouse Management under Cross-Process Settings ® Value-Added Services (VAS).

●  Define Number Range for VAS Order

●  Activate Order Document Management for VAS

●  Define Relevance for VAS

●  Warehouse-Number-Dependent VAS Settings

Then, you need to define your storage process and link it to your Warehouse Order Creation process.

Your Storage Process should consist of VAS Activity. Below Help Text will help you to understand further.

VAS Integration with Storage Control

Use

There are two types of storage control possible for value-added services (VAS):

    1. 1. Storage control "UP" for non-packed delivery items or for packed delivery items without process-oriented storage control:

  1. Here, the system diverts the product warehouse task for the inbound delivery or warehouse task for the outbound delivery to a VAS work center. When the last VAS activity is completed for the stock at the work center, the system creates a subsequent warehouse task for final putaway or for the goods issue zone. If the VAS order takes place at several VAS work centers in sequence, the system creates warehouse tasks that bring the goods from one VAS work center to the next one.
    1. 2. Storage control "PL" for packed delivery items with process-oriented storage control:

  1. Here, you determine in the storage process when the VAS step (or steps) are to occur. The handling units (HUs) are, as usual, directed by the process-oriented storage control to the work centers.

Activities

If you want to use the VAS storage control, you have to make the following settings:

      1. In the

Process-Oriented Storage Control

    1. IMG activity, create an

external process step

      using the 'VAS'

internal process step

. You can then specify these external steps in the packaging specification per PS level.
      2. For each warehouse number, define which VAS process step is executed at which work station. To do so, you have to define the

work centers

    1. and define the associated storage type, storage area, and storage bin in the

Process-Oriented Storage Control

  1. IMG activity as destination for the process step.

Special settings for the storage control "UP":

To get the stock from the VAS work center to the next destination, you have to make settings for the 'Move VAS Stock Further' function in the Define Work Center Layout IMG activity.

Special settings for the storage control "PL":

In the storage process, enter all potential VAS steps and set the 'Rule-Based' indicator for the process step. If a VAS order has no activity for a VAS process step, the system skips this step in the warehouse process.

In the Work Centers IMG activity, define the process step that is completed at this work center.

Assign the warehouse process to your warehouse process type.

Example

The product P1 is to control the following bins in your warehouse

GR ZONE ---------->Oiling Station ----------> VAS Packing Station ---------->Final Putaway Bin

You define the external process steps 'VAS oiling' and 'VAS packing'.

As there is only one oiling station in your warehouse, create a work center 'Oiling Station'. You enter the storage bin belonging to this work center as the destination for process step 'VAS oiling' in Customizing.

You define a work center 'VAS Packing Station' in your warehouse and enter this as the destination for process step 'VAS packing'.

You create a packing specification for product P1 and define two PS levels. You enter process step 'VAS oiling' for level 1, and process step 'VAS packing' for level 2.

A VAS order is now created either manually or automatically for a delivery item with product 1. When creating this VAS order, the system already attempts to determine the work center for the VAS activities. If not all the required data is there yet (source storage type, HU type group), then the work center is determined when the warehouse task is created.

Using storage control 'UP':

Due to the existence of a VAS order, the system does not direct the product warehouse task for the delivery item to the original target (final putaway bin), rather to the work center 'Oil Station'.

After the goods have been oiled at the 'Oiling Station', the user must choose the function 'Move VAS Stock' in the work center. The system then creates another warehouse task that takes the goods to the 'VAS Packing Station' work center of the next VAS activity. From here, you can create another warehouse task by choosing 'Move VAS Stock' which then takes the goods to their actual destination (final putaway bin).

Example for storage control 'PL':

Your storage process P1 includes the process steps 'VAS oiling', 'VAS packing' and 'Putaway'.

For both work centers, you specify in Customizing which process step can be completed there: for the oiling station, you specify 'VAS oiling' and for the packing station 'VAS packing'.

Choosing the function 'Warehouse Task for Delivery Item' makes the system create HU warehouse tasks for the packed product P1 with destination 'Oiling Station'.

After the goods have been oiled at the 'Oiling Station', the user must execute the function 'Complete Process Step' for each HU in the work center. The system then creates for the HU a HU warehouse task for the next VAS activity in the 'VAS Packing Station' work center. From here, you can create another (HU) warehouse task by choosing 'Complete Process Step', which then takes the HU (or product) to the final storage bin.

After this, you should be able to do VAS. Please start with this. If you stuck anywhere, please do let us know.
