Mobile Trust Server

Hi,

We are on BI Mobile 4.1 SP3 and BI4.1 SP3.  We have configured SSO and SSL on BI4.1 SP3. We'd like to configure SSL and SSO on BI mobile. Client device is iPad

As to configure SSL, from SAP note, Mobile server should be trusted. for now, we are using the second way to configure SSL

     "The root certificate of your server is installed on client device as a profile, so that when the connection to server is added in the application, the device can verify the server certificate."

Certificates exported and installed related certificates in iPad, and certificates are in iPad profile. but when tried to import URL, it still has MOB06031 error, until using bypass the verification of server certificate and to establish connections to an uncertified server through the application(Application settings->Additional Settings->Security Exceptions). User can successfully access to BI mobile.

On certificates, it has path like jpg file. I imported the top 3 certificates to iPad, should I import all certificates into iPad.

Thanks,

Youqin

Hi ,

Make sure that the certificate you import is trusted by a CA authority. if that is not trusted, it will be visible under profile, however you will have to bypass or use security exception ( where it is working as of now )

Ask your network team to provide you with one.

Hi Atul,

I confirmed from our network team. Certificates are signed by CA. As I mentioned, I imported the first three certificates on iPad

Configuration file on server.properties is

mobi.connections=connection1

connection1.DisplayName=sample connection

connection1.BOBJ_MOBILE_USER_NAME=SampleTest1

connection1.BOBJ_MOBILE_URL=https://boxi.AA.BB.CC:port

connection1.BOBJ_MOBILE_CMC=boxi.AA.BB.CC

connection1.BOBJ_MOBILE_AUTH_METHOD=secEnterprise

connection1.BOBJ_MOBILE_CONNECTION_TYPE:1

the iPad connection import using URL:

https://boxi.AA.BB.CC:port

Do I missing any thing on configuration? Could you please help.

Thanks,

Youqin

Hi,

you need to let me us know the SAP BI version you are using on your ipad.

If it is 5.1.15 ( latest ), i guess there are some issues that have come up with this version.

Hi Atul,

SAP BI version is 5.1.15.7.

what issues this version have?

Another issue on certificates,

certificate is trusted on bb.cc.com, but our DNS is aa.bb.cc.com. using IE we can access https://aa.bb.cc.com:port/BOE/BI  to BI system.  but not sure if this certificate issue is causing when import the same URL https://aa.bb.cc.com:port not working?

Could anyone please help on this?

Thanks,

HI Youqin,

For now, would reqeust you to use the exception criteria for your trust certificates.

this is a known issue to SAP and we are working on it to get this fixed.

The same issue will occur on Android 5.1.33 version as well.
