Spool hangs notification

Hello Guru's,

We have production system with SID : PRD which has 5 application servers.

In each application server we have configured 2 spool process. So in total 10 spools for PRD.

The issue is sometimes spool wp hangs and we didn't receive any prints for hours.

I am aware that we can check spool status from sm50 and sm66. I am looking for some sort of automation in which i can get alert/notification if spool hangs for more than 2 hours.

Is there any such configuration available in SAP systems or i am open to other sort of methods also.

Suggestions are most welcome.

Use RZ20 Spool system MTE.

Hi,

we had the same problem and the reason was, that the device was a printer on a windows print server which had set the property 'Print directly to the printer', instead of 'Spool print document...'. When the printer was offline, the spool process of the SAP system got blocked.

1.  During hang time are you find any error log in transaction code SM21 log?

2. In all printer device are configured equal distributed all the 5 application servers or not? you can find this on transaction code SPAD

Do the spool consistence check in the administrator tab
