Listing/Exclusion - Warning Message?

Hi All,

We have configured some listing and exclusion types to restrict certain material groups from certain customers.  This is having an adverse affects on IDOCs and they are not processed due to the hard error, "Material is excluded..."

Is there some method of changing this hard error to a warning message, or instead setting the reason for rejection?

Hi Dan,

This is the expected behavior to have error message when the customer orders for a product which he is not supposed to purchase. Also from the business process point of view, if we decide that we are excluding a list of materials then it is quiet obvious that the sales team will / should not encourage the customer in placing order for those excluded products.  - This has already been raised out by Mr. Laxmipathi.

Your expectation of providing warning messages will work out in the Material Determination scenario wherein the customer might not be aware of our material status and hence they might order for a material which has become obsolete or any other reason for that matter.

Do you mean to say certain items are excluded for certain customers and you are passing IDOC with these excluded items?  If so, what is the need to include those items?

A customer might unknowingly order some excluded materials via EDI 850, and the incoming IDOC is not processing due to the error message on the line.
