Hi All,
Is there any difference between SAP Gateway and SAP Netweaver gateway.
Thanks & Regards,
Naseem
While developing mobile applications on SMP 3.0, if the backend data source is SAP then SAP netweaver Gateway is needed to convert to Odata and then consumed by SAP mobile 3.0.
If the backend data source is Non-SAP ( like Web or database) then SAP Integration Gateway is needed to convert to Odata and then consumed by SAP 3.0.
Thanks,
Shiv

Hi Shiv,
Thanks for the quick reply.
Actually i referred to the SAP Gateway, which is described in the below link.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/31/42f34a7cab4cb586177f85a0cf6780/frameset.htm
Does this have anything to do with SAP Netweaver gateway.
Is SAP Integration gateway which you mentioned same as SAP Gateway?
Thanks & Regards,
Naseem
Hi Naseem,
coming back to your original question.
Jitendra is right that SAP NetWeaver Gateway has been renamed to SAP Gateway since we decided to remove the "NetWeaver” prefix from our official product names with immediate effect as described by Harald Nehring in his blog .
Unfortunately there is a component (but not a separate product) which has is part of the SAP Application Server ABAP and Java that is also called Gateway. This Gateway component has alway been part of the application server ABAP and Java and handles the SAP proprietary RFC protocol.
Our product SAP Gateway has been introduced to allow the consumption of SAP data by the standardized OData protocol which is also easy to understand by non-SAP developers.
So rather than sticking to the proprietary RFC protocol that uses interfaces such as BAPI's and RFC function modules requiring the developer of the client application to have SAP knowledge the SAP Gateway builds on open standards.
So in principle there are actually two "Gateways" (violating the Highlander prinicple ) but it is most likly the product SAP Gateway that non-SAP developers are currently looking for.
Best Regards,
Andre

Hi Naseem,
Integration Gateway is a new component of SMP3 which allows you to connect to different back ends like SOAP, JDBC,JPA, fetch data at runtime and convert it into OData models to expose data as an OData service.
You can find lots of documents available at SCN. I.e.
Integration Gateway: http://scn.sap.com/docs/doc-50022
http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-49861
"SAP Netweaver gateway" is same as " SAP Gateway" (maybe new naming) is a set of ABAP add-ons to existing SAP ERP system.
For more information check:
http://scn.sap.com/community/gateway
(Look at announcement at the same page)
To respond to your question:
"sap Integration Gateway" is not same as "sap gateway".
Let us know if you need any other information.
