Hi,

Does the RFC connection between APO & BW system is required for creating an Active InfoCube in APO System...??

Or Only RFC connection between APO & ECC system is enough..!!

Hi Ramesh,

I don't think it is required.

My guess is that an RFC connection is NOT required for creating a cube in APO system. Neither to BW or ECC.

Its a guess, because whenever I've set these up, I've always had the RFC connections available.

Hi Rishi,

RFC is mandatory to transfer the data from ECC to APO.

( Generally RFC connection is done by Basis Team).

We can create an InfoCube in APO without RFC connection but that will be inactive and that can not be used for further process in APO.

My doubt was in order to create an Active InfoCube, an RFC connection between BW system & APO system is required or not.

Hi Ramesh,

It depends on your source system. If the source system is not ECC and let us say you want the data to be loaded from a flat file, then you need not have RFC connections setup for creating an active info cube. If you are creating an info cube in APO BW which will get data from external BW, then yes, you need RFC connections between them.
