Hi all, I am new to PPM have gone to SAP material relevant to PPM but have few small basic doubts,

1. What is the exact difference between Cr projects and project created in PPM

2. What does exactly a bucket, phase, task, check list, check list item mean. IF some one compare with existing and explain it would be great.

3. If we implement PPM 5.0 then dont we need c projects does it replaces it completely

4. Exact difference b/w C project and project in PS system

Hi Sai,

To answer your points-

1. What is the exact difference between Cr projects and project created in PPM

1) Both are same, PPM is an upgraded version of cProjects. Earlier cProjects 4.5 & RPM 4.5 were different product solutions but now they have been combined with enhanced features and called as PPM.

2. What does exactly a bucket, phase, task, check list, check list item mean. IF some one compare with existing and explain it would be great.

2) Nothing as changed as far as cProjects/RPM 4.5 and PPM 5.0. Only the features are enhanced and the terms used are the same.

Refer SAP Help for detailed definitions of the terms.

3. If we implement PPM 5.0 then dont we need c projects does it replaces it completely

3) I have answered this in the first one. Yes, this would replace the user interface, but all your projects will remain in the database and can be accessed through PPM5.0 also.

4. Exact difference b/w C project and project in PS system

4) These 2 solutions are different project management solutions which has it's own pros & cons. You can refer the below blog for details.
