Issue in changing the Validity in Factory calender in Solman (SCAL). Any ideas?

Hi,

I am trying to create a new factory calender in SCAL.

I am unable to change the validity as i encounter the error: "Please enter validity between 1995 - 2010"

I would require a validity between 2014 - 2050.

Also what should i enter as Factory Date Start?

Please check the 2 attachments.

Thanks.

Hi Ritesh,

Can you please try adjusting the validity period for the holiday

calendar first to see if this helps.

Kind regards,

Hi Roland,

Just did that and it works!! Thanks for the fix.

But could you please guide me on the 2nd part, where i have to enter "Factory Date Start".

I have entered the value as 2014? Is that correct?

Hi,

Once you extend the validity period of the Holiday Calendar

then extend the validity period of the Factory Calendar

to a year within the new validity period of the Holiday Calendar.

The SAP note no. 1529649 explains what to do. Please see

attachment in this note where you will find a

detailed, step-by-step description, how to extend the validity.

Kind regards,

Hi,

If the problem is now resolved you can set the question to "answered" or if you have any other issues just revert.

Thank you.

Hi Roland,

The issue with the validity is resolved.

I have created the calendar successfully.

However, i am still curious what value is to be entered for the "Factory Date Start".

Is it some date that i have to enter? I have entered it as 2014.

Please suggest.

Thanks.

Hi

If you keep the "Factory Date Start" blank, as in most cases, the system treat this as a zero(0) and system will consider first working day from that year. So you should remove 2014 and leave it blank.

There is another option, say if your company was started in the middle of 2013 and if you want to continue the factory date from previous factory calendar, enter the last factory date in previous factory calendar. The first working day in the new factory calendar then gets this factory date, incremented by 1 by the system.

I hope this helps.
