Dear folks,
currently I am working on problem with printing adobe forms via Frontend printer.
Printing a spool request via a local printer (access type G, device type SWIN/SAPWIN/PDF) does not perform any output.
If I change to local printer to "file", I'll see that the data stream a pdf file.
So obviously SAPPDFPrint does not convert the pdf data stream.
This is the system environment:
SAP GUI 730 PL 9
SAPPDFPrint 730 PL 6 (32 bit)
OS Windows 7 32-Bit
SAP_BASIS 740
ADS Version 1040.20121017114537.881796
(Printing from ABAP Application)
I allready checked following notes:1066060, 1444342. 1909193.
Any suggestions how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!
Dominik
Dear Dominik,
I would recommend to check the logfiles.
Could you please activate the trace options as in the note #1780896 described, and repeat a print with access method G. After it you should see a file with name "sapwin_*.log" in the directory
Traces as shown also in the note.
Do yo usee any error in this file?
Can you maybe share with me this file?
Best regards,
Norbert

Thank you Norbert,
the logs says "Version .... is incompatible" although the highest patches of GUI and PDFPrint were installed.
Now I installed both component from the NW Presentation CD (PL 0) and it works...
Obviously you must be careful when installing patches and using Adobe on frontend printers
Best regards
Dominik
Dear Dominik,
Yes, the SAPGUI 730 patch 9 is only compatible with SAPPDFPRINT 730 patch 5, but not with the new patch 6. For patch 6 SAPGUI 730 patch 10 will be compatible which will be released in the mid of August according to note #1053737.
When you install SAPGUI patch 9 with SAPPDFPRINT patch 5 this should work without problem.
I hope this information helps you by the further planning.
Best regards,
Norbert
Thank you Adam!
Next please

Hi Dominik,
Try device type HPLJ4, that's the one I use for PDF printing.
If that won't work perhaps let us know which printer you are using?

I use the device types PDF/SAPWIN as mentioned in note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1444342 .
The program SAPPDFPrint should convert the pdf data stream, but it doesn't.
