Hello Uday,

you have to check, what has consumed this memory and if you can increase values for some memory parameters. Please check ST22 for memory dumps, and please check ST02 (history for extended memory and heap), if the instance regularly consumes this amount of memory. Which operating system and which basis/kernel release has the system?

Hi Alwina,

Thanks for the reply.

SAPKB70027 - Basis component

SAP Kernel :  720_EXT_REL

Kernel Patch number : 420

Dump "TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED" occured once today.

What happened?

You attempted to extend an internal table, but the required space was

    not available.

Error analysis

    The internal table "\FUNCTION-POOL=SKBH\FORM=FB_SUBTOTALS_GET\DATA=<IT_HTAB>"

could not be further extended. To enable

error handling, the table had to be delete before this log was written.

As a result, the table is displayed further down or, if you branch to

the ABAP Debugger, with 0 rows.

At the time of the termination, the following data was determined for

    the relevant internal table:

    Memory location: "Session memory"

    Row width: 2156

    Number of rows: 45523

    Allocated rows: 45523

Newly requested rows: 4 (in 1 blocks)

Thanks and best regards,

uday

Hello Uday,

was this dump created at the time "27.05.2014   15:45:21" when you have got "critical memory status"? In this dump a section about memory consumption should be there, could you please check this section how much memory was allocated?

Hello Uday,

around 8 GB memory was used, this is a huge amount of memory for a program. Could you please have a look at ST02 at this section:

What do you see in the column "In Mem", how much memory can be allocated by the instance? And what are the values for "MaxUse"?

Alwina

Thanks for the help!

Hello Uday,

this instance can allocate around 42GB extended memory, the instance has used maximum around 9,5GB memory since last restart, so this instance did not use 80% memory like you have posted originally. Is this ST02 output from the correct instance (just to be sure)? In ST02 --> Environment --> RFC server you can switch between instances, could you please check, if you have the output from the instance sapxxxxx_SID_01 like in your original post?

Alwina
