Citing just from memory

Deleting source CVC's during realignment can increase speed of this program

Also check if you have time series locks registration on in Prod (TS_LOCKS)

I am no expert. Rest is finding hidden notes on service.sap

Hi, Note 1659059 should help here.

Hi

It might be an obvious question but how many entries are there in the reallignment file and how many CVC's do they relate to?

We had an issue with reallignment taking a long time to complete. A nomal weekly reallignment would be about 100 records but this time I found that the business had mass-changed a lot of materials (without telling us, of course!) and there were about 21000 records, relating to approx 300000 CVC's. It took 10 days to complete!

Hi Chris,

If you read the thread you will see my comment about my experince.

My questions to you:

1. You say you have 300000 CVCs. What is your response time in the planning book when youd 100000 CVCs?

2. Do you ever load all 300000 CVCs at once?
Thanks,

Subash

Hi Subash

We've actually got over 500,000 in total but we never load them all at once. Big selections do make for pretty sluggish performance in the planning book and we try to discourage users from doing this. Increasingly, we are relying on a system-generated forecast and using BEX to review the results, rather than the planning book.

Hi Chris,

Is there a chance you could load 100000 CVCs and see how much time it takes, if possible? I would very much appreciate that.

Thanks,

Subash

Hi Subash

A selection with just under 99000 CVC's loaded to the shuffler in around one minute and to the planning book in around four and a half minutes. How does this compare to your experience?

Many thanks

Thanks Chris for your information.

Unfortunately in our business we can not rely on stat forecast alone. We have a lot of District and Territory managers forecastin actively and so they need to log in, drill down and enter the forecast at an appropriate level.

One of our businesses has 186000 CVCs. Our most used selection has 65000 CVCs, which takes about 280 to 320 seconds. Unofrtunately we do a lot of stuff while loading that selection.

We hide some rows, change the UoM, drill down to another level and pivot sort the KFs. We do all this thru the user settings for the selection.
We are wondering whether we can reduce it to something like 150 seconds. Any ideas from you or Ada will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Subash

refer note   1823288

what SCM version you are on now, it will help to investigate further.

are there any changes made in production recently, compare the program version with quality.

when was the last time you quality refreshed from production.

since when it is taking long time in production.

Hi Koteshwar,
Please refer to the note suggested by Kishore which is for SCM 7.02. Also did the detereoration start recently or has it been slow all the time? We had a massive issue long back with realignment which ultimately was resolved by some settings/parameters at the Oracle database level. I don't even know what was done as the person who did it is not even here anymore. Would be worthwhile to look at that area too.

Sorry I can not be of much assitance.

apologies,

Subash

We have SCM 7.02 level 0004(SAPKY70204).

the program /SAPAPO/TS_REALIGN_COPY have following version in all systems.

activ          X  731                             03/25/2008 19:47:50 SAP.

Last refresh completed 2/Mar/2014.

Other information from the chat from functional user:

I personally don't think it is an issue with the realignment application. I think the issue is whatever the system is doing when switching to the next partition....PARTITION-NAME 0000000137 ACTION: ADD

User:

although it just hit me...the sql statements we see might just be for those instances the realignment program found a hit and neded to delete the original and the time in between is when the application is just doing the searches...so it could be the application

but that still doesn't explain why it runs OK in Q and D but not in P

We try to install above sap note 1823288 but that note require prerequisite "SAPKY70205" minimum But we have SAPKY70204 as of now. The difficult part is while implementing this note we suppose to create new packages which are not exist with SAPKY70204.  when i try to create one package then its looking for some other package. so Developer feels that better to upgrade the support pack instead of manually creating packages. We send a note to sap and waiting for sap answer.

Can you check the global work process (SM66 in SCM System, and please check what the job is doing, it must be trying to read some data from a table mostly.

Also, check what is your livecache version , i suppose you recently upgraded to 7.02 along with your ECC Upgrade? this has some thing to do with your livecache.

Rorie
