Hello Gateway experts!
I have a question relative to gateway communication type User ID's.... when utilizing a Communications type ID via automatic RFC connections does the system maintain 1 continuous session open for these transactions?
Or does it repeatedly open extra concurrent connections under the same communication ID (which impacts number of connections aka system profile parameter rdisp/tm_max_no - default=200) ???
Any information you could provide is greatly appreciated because I am trying to examine how long we need to set for RFC connection session tests...
Please provide creditable SAP documentation/Notes to back-up your replies.
Thank you!
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
is your question related to pure RFC-based communication ? Then you would have to post it in a different community, for example:
Or is your question about an OData client connecting to SAP Gateway (formerly known as SAP NetWeaver Gateway) and how the the (trusted) RFC communication between the SAP Gateway Hub Server and the SAP Gateway Backend System is done?
There might be confusion because SAP NetWeaver Gateway has just recently been renamed to SAP Gateway, a name that is also used for the SAP Gateway component which is part of the SAP Web AS ABAP and handles the RFC based communication.
Regards,
Andre
