JAVA Upgrade - Install Service for Shadow SCS

We are doing a Upgrade for JAVA only system.. and in PreProcessing phase :Install Service for Shadow SCS.

Error says "Invalid Credentials" for sidadm.. but i do not how this is happening.. as when we enter sidadm password SUM verifies and in case of error do not allow to continue.

I can see a new SCS shadow instance which i can start manually.. but SUM fails. As per logs.. it is Failing to authenticate against the SAPControl web service API for sidadm.

please let me know any suggestions.

Hi Ashish,

Follow the steps

1. Run the command manually , is your domain name is correct EXTRANET

D:\IBM\SUM\sdt\data\kernel\sapstartsrv.exe -r -q -p D:/IBM/SUM/sdt/SID/SYS/profile/SID_SCS10_<MyHOSTNAME> -s SID -n 10 -U EXTRANET\SAPServiceSID -P <SecureField> -e EXTRANET\sidadm

In secure field enter the password

2. Set the parameter service/proctedwebmethods =  NONE in all the profiles of shadow system and original system profiles.

Stop the system and also manually restart of the SAP_<SID><instance no>

Hopefully this will resolve the issue

Also paste the logs of \INSTALL_SERVICE_10_03.OUT

Follow the steps mentioned in the sapnote.for windows.

1563660 - sapcontrol, <sid>adm authorization issues (SUM)

1715038 - <SID>adm user can not be verified in a distributed

It suggested the same thing which i have mentioned in my last reply but before that you can follow S Sriram suggestion

Strange thing is.. with same SUM and all other Parameters, I have performed 3 upgrades.. this is 4th system of landscape.

I had always started upgrade with service/protectedwebmethods = DEFAULT in DEFAULT.PFL.
