Material Type Change..

Hi,

When I am changing Material Type it is giving Error as follows :

The material type cannot be changed.

The reasons for this are:

The material is already used in BOM items whose item category defines

quantity-based inventory management. However, quantity-based

inventory management is not defined by the new material type.

What is the reason ?

hi yosuf,

first you have to tick for 'quantity updation ' and also 'value updation ' for newly created material type with plant combination in oms2 transaction.it would generate a request and save.

after this you can change the material type for any material in mmam transaction.

Hi Mukund,

It is working fine, but 'quantity updation' & 'value updation' tick was already there, only i have ticked on pipeline handling mandatory and it is working.

is it O.K. ? pl tell me the consequences of the above modification.
