Hello,
We are having problems exporting data to Excel 2007, and when we try nothing happens. All worked OK when we used the 2003 version, and I have read a few articles that say the SAPGUI 7.1 is not compatible with the latest version.
Does anybody know if this is correct ?
Thanks for your help
Andrew

This note explains the SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 Beta program and the updates to release 7.10 before official shipment.
Other terms
SAP GUI 7.10; 710; Vista; WinGUI; new release; beta program; beta.
Reason and Prerequisites
Since SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 is the first version of SAP GUI to be released on Microsoft Windows Vista and the official release of SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 is scheduled in February 2007 at the earliest, but on the other hand Microsoft set up a Beta program for Vista, it was required to start a beta program for SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 as well.
Solution FAQ:
How to join the SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 Beta program?
Unfortunately the list of participants for the Beta program is now fixed. It is no longer possible to enter the Beta program.
Supported platforms:
SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 supports the following platforms:
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows 2003 Server
Windows Vista
SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 may also work on Longhorn Server, but this is currently not in the focus of this Beta program. However you may try to use SAP GUI on Longhorn and send us your feedback.
How to install SAP GUI for Windows 7.10?
Even though the installation of SAP GUI been completely revised for release 7.10 the process itself is very similar to what you already know.
To start the installation run the program SapGuiSetup.exe which will guide you through the rest of the process.
Please note that previous versions of SAP GUI installed on the client you are about to install 7.10 on will be automatically removed.
A detailed documentation for setting up and managing an installation server for SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 is available on https://webdav.sap-ag.de/software/sapguidist/sapgui710beta/.
Business Intelligence (BI) 7.0 Frontend has been removed from SAP GUI installation
Since the BI Frontend will be part of several independent SAP deliveries in the future this component had to be eliminated from the standard SAP GUI installation. It is now a separate component which can be added to an existing SAP GUI installation server. For the end user this typically does not have any impact and the administrator just has to import the additional component on his installation server.
The Beta 11 version is the first version which includes the BI 7.0 Frontend (now called BI 7.1 Frontend). Even though BI Frontend and SAP GUI are now two independent components the CD mirror you can download contains both components. You can start the installation of SAP GUI by using "SapGuiSetup.exe", you can start the installation of BI Frontend by using "SapBISetup.exe" or you can start a combined installation by using "SetupAll.exe".
New features
An updated list of new features of SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 is available in SAP note 947334.
In the latest version the following features are already implemented:
Support for Windows Vista operating system
Support for Microsoft Office 2007
Dynpro Splitter (an improved version of the known Splitter Control).
New ABAP Frontend Editor (also available in newer versions of SAP GUI for Windows 6.40)
New SAPLogon design including wizards for creating and editing connections (use F1 help in SAPLogon for more information)
New installation which enhanced feature set (development is still in progress)
New version of SAP GUI options dialog called "Tweak SAP GUI".
Current limitations
SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 Beta 11 comes with the following limitations:
LSH (Local Security Handling) is not yet possible with the SAP GUI installation. You can set up and update installation servers, but all users need administrative privileges. This feature will be added in the final version delivered in February 2007.
Application of patches as known for earlier releases is not yet possible - all versions published by us will include all files, but can be installed over older versions. This feature will only be available once the final version is delivered.
The Web Dynpro Client for Windows has been permanently removed from the SAP GUI for Windows installation. In the future this will be shipped as a separate component.
Known issues
The upper corners of SAP GUI windows are no longer edged, but round.
The "SAPConsole Administrator" plug-in to the Control Panel raises a "Compatibility Popup". This issue will be solved in Beta 11.

Support:
If an issue you experienced in not mentioned in this note please create a message in the SAP customer support system on component BC-FES-GUI.
A message should contain the following pieces of information:
Title of the message should start with "SAPGUI710".
Version of SAP GUI you are using (taken from the about dialog of SAPLogon)
Version of the operating system used
Version of the SAP System used
Description of the error
If possible an easy example how the issue can be reproduced
Please understand that errors typically cannot be processed by mail since the resolution process often requires several people to analyze the issue. Therefore I am asking you to create a message in case you find an error in SAP GUI. These messages will receive a preferential treatment as they will bypass our Primary Support and be processed directly by SAP GUI development.
Of course you should only report issues to us which occur in conjunction with SAP GUI for Windows 7.10. Issues in the operating system itself should be reported to Microsoft.
Our general recommendation is: Every bug that appears in SAP GUI should first be reported to SAP. We will do our analysis and if we come to the conclusion that the issue has to be fixed by Microsoft we will contact them.
Microsoft and SAP are in regular contact regarding the "SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 on Vista" program.
Important notice:
Please remember that SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 is still Beta software and may therefore contain errors. Even though every version we deliver is quality assured critical errors may exist in this release. Therefore this SAP GUI version should not be used to connect to productive SAP Systems
