CBS temp folders contain over 4GB

CBS temp folders (1 for each server node) contain nearly 4 GB each at /usr/sap/SID/JC00/j2ee/cluster /server0/temp/CBS/123456890 (server node #).

This folder contains numerous 2 digit hexadecimal folder names...a8, a9, ba, bb, bc (CBS temporary build folders ?)

Can the content under the temp folder be safely deleted or is there a way to maintain this data ?

NWDI NW7.3 on AIX 6.1

Hi,

check in the CBS settings this parameter:

/nwa --> Configuration -- Infrastructure -- Java System Properties --> on the second table select the tab "Services" and look up the service "Component Build Service"

What is the value of cleanUpRequestFolders ? (as default it is true).

Further, where the parameter rootFolder points to? (./temp/CBS is expected)

I hope this helps.

Hi Ervin,

The current values are as you suggested,

cleanUpRequestFolders = true

rootFolder = ./temp/CBS

Both props are modifiable online and contain no custom calc'd values.

Is there some scheduled task that is supposed to clean these folders ?

As a caveat, this system was also upgraded from NWDI 7.01 to 7.3 around April 2012.

Thank you

Hi,

try restarting the CBS Service (you can do from nwa's Start&Stop service).
If that does not help, then restart the engine. I think the folder should be cleaned in these cases.
