Product planning in APO

Hi,

We have stopped a product from planning more in APO and we want to see only the details of the product in APO.

For that we have changed the MRP Type from X0 to PD in ECC and moreover we have set the procurement type to P in APO.

We havent deleted the existing PDS in APO.

But strange thing is system is creating PPDS orders outside the PPDS horizon during the automatic planning run.

Any idea on the same.

What will be the impact if I delete the PDS also in APO?

Hello Prasanth,

PPDS heuristic will not able to  create any Order outside the PPDs Horizon. When u say automatic planning run , which heuristic you are running ?

yes it may possible any optimizer or any  scheduling  heuristic may reschedule the orders outside the PPDs horizon .

you can check by putting a production list after MRP run and After PPDS run , see the difference whether extra order getting created or orders reschedule is there ...

I don't think existing PDS will create any issue .

But  yes PDS is not required if the material  is not planning in APO . You can delete it . just maintain the planned order , stock , and PO/PR Model active for The FG as well as the component .
