MAIN_SWITCH/STOPSAP_XCNV error

Hi ,

I am doing SCM 7.0 EHP3 upgrade from SCM 7.0. During execution phase the below error occured.

Severe error(s) occurred in phase MAIN_SWITCH/STOPSAP_XCNV!

Last error code set: Process /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS56/exe/sapcontrol exited with 1, see '/usr/sap/SID/SUM/abap/log/SAPup.ECO' for details

I can see the " FAIL: NIECONN_REFUSED (Connection refused), NiRawConnect failed in plugin_fopen ()" in SAPup.ECO file.

I could able to do "stopsap" manuall in main instance and it was successful. I have stopped all the running processess except the SUM tool.. still no luck.

I will appreciate all your help and guidance to resolve this issue.

Check OSS note 1563660 - sapcontrol, <sid>adm authorization issues (SUM)

Make sure that the file sapuxuserchk belongs to root and has the setuid bit set.

-rwsr-x---    1 root sapsys     /usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS00/exe/sapuxuserchk

-rwsr-x---    1 root sapsys     /usr/sap/hostctrl/exe/sapuxuserchk

Also check that file /tmp/.sapstream5<System Number>13 does exist. If not do a full stop of all the instance on the system (using kill if script does not work), make sure you clean all ipc segment/semaphore belonging to sapuser (except SUM one's) and restart the system.

You could also check note 1439348 - Extended security settings for sapstartsrv

and in you still do not succeed try setting instance parameter service/protectedwebmethods = to DEFAULT

Hi Daniel,

With sidadm user please execute the command

sapcontrol -prot NI_HTTP -nr 00 -function Stop

And check whether application is getting stopped correctly. If not, then share relevant logs.

what log files you want me to share..pls name them.
