Can't modify reports

Hi from a complete novice,

If I make any minor modifications to my reports they won't open. Even if I just rename the file.

Any ideas that could help me?

Hi Stephen,

Is these reports are designed using same version which you are trying to open / modification ?

If not what version of Crystal Reports were used to create the reports ?  What is your current version of crystal reports ?

For test purpose, can you create a sample report save on hard drive close crystal designer and open it again and try to modify the test report to check the issue.

They were created using version XI and I am trying to open them using XI.

Hi Stephen,

Do you get any error message when you try to open the report in the CR Designer?

If you don't see any error messages, try opening them in this way:

- Start the CR Designer

- Drag and drop the report inside the designer page OR

- Go to File > Open > browse to the location the report is in and click OK.

Hi Abhilash,

I can view the reports in CR but can't view them in the program I use after modifying them. One report only displays the template but none of the data.

Well, what application is that - Java or .Net?
