Contract Termination in REFX

Hi,

Just what to ask on how you process the termination of contract using flexible real estate? Is it something like assigning a contract user status? How to monitor the different reasons of termination if the user status alone will be used? and also how to control the posting in terminated contract? Thanks in Advance.

Hi, Renee Regala

If you want to use 'User Status' and control 'Terminated Contract'. and post in terminated contract,

you can consider two things as below .

1. Configure following  'Business Transaction Control' on the 'User Status'.

(Go to RECACUST > General Settings for Master Data and Contract > User Status and Activity Control)

Business Transaction                  Allowed        Warning     Forbid    No Action

    RE: Execute periodic postings            O

    RE: Cancel periodic postings              O

    FI: Postings                                       O

2. When you change 'Contract Status' to 'Terminated', You must define 'Termination date' and apply

BADI for cash-flow control. Actual termination date mean that official business transaction must be

stop based on this date. so if you want to post terminated contract, you must try to restrict for

possible planned cash flow just before termination date.

     - BADI : Restrict Selection of Cash Flow Records (BADI_RERA_POSTING_PARAM)

Thanks yeong-chul, Jeong and Siddharth for your reply. So it means that the Notice REasons will only end the term of the contract? then If we need to lock the contract from any postings or changes in the contract, we need to define this using the User Status control and this is not part of the Giving Notice functionality? thanks

Hi,

Yes you are right, contract locking is not being taken care by Giving Notice.
Notice will only end the term of contract.

Hi Renee,

You can terminate the contract by using Notice Reasons.

You can configure any notice reason as per your business requirement and then Give Notice to the particular contract. This in turn updates End Term date in Contract.

Once the contract gets End term date, cashflow of future line items if any gets stopped from that particular date. Then you can lock Contract Master data and account assignment.

Hope it helps you!

Regards,

Siddharth
