rz20 remote database monitoring

Former Member

Hi girus,

we have to monitor from our Solution Manager a java remote database. We have followed note 1139623, everything works well in transaction DB02 for this remote system except Alert Monitor Tree under Folder Alert . The icons are inactive and are not showing data.

We have already set flag "collect alert data" in transaction DBACOCKPIT.

Any ideas?

Hi Stefano

In DB02, after selecting for remote system, You may be seeing (Right side of the screen) details for space overview, database, users etc.  are  empty.

Perform "Refresh". (After selecting Remote database, if no issue with connectivity from SolMan).

This trigger a job "REFRESH SPACE STATISTIC:SystemName", once this job finished & you can open DB02 in another screen & you can see all 3 nodes, DB Check, Check Conditions and Alert Monitor will be in active status..

Hello,

Could you please check note:
1265134 - DBA Cockpit: Connecting a remote database
1711688 - DBA Cockpit: RZ20 alerts are not generated

868063 - Database space statistics monitor for Oracle
1540222 - DBA Cockpit: Monitoring non-ABAP/Java Oracle databases

If a database is installed on a remote server than the SAPLOCALHOST parameter should be maintained correctly in the agent profile, the value

for this parameter should be exactly the same as the SAPDBHOST parameter value in the instance profile. If this is correctly done than in the

transaction AL15 automatically the flag "DB server" will be selected for the related SAPCCMSR agent RFC destination (note 444947).

Hi Stefano,

What is the version of your SAP Solution Manager? Also check if you need grant permissions for accessing to managed Database host from managing Solution Manager host.

Hi Fernando,

our Solution Manager is 7.1 SP 06.

Grant permission should be ok because we have used an oracle schema to set db connection from dbacockpit.

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

Can you make sure he database user who is to be entered for the database connection must

be the relevant schema owner, in other words, SAPR3, SAP<SID>, SAPSR3 or

SAPDB<SID>?

Kind regards,

Roland
