I'm linking Webi Documents SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1

A example of my hyperlink is

http://stjh1482:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=5935&sType=wid&sRefresh=Y&sWindow=... Yr])&lsSgrp=([Assignment-Group])&lsSttype=([Type])

Is there anyway to make the server name and docid a varible?

I need this because I want to move it from a dev to prod  Environment anf don't wamt to edit every link.

Thank you

Exactly. You have to use relative URL. The server and port will be automatically resolved from existing session.

And in the hyperlink, instead of the integer ID, use CUID and while migrating, do it by ID so that CUID remains same. If that is not feasible, you can use sDocName and sPath combination in link (for XI3.1) which to be kept same across different environments.

If someday you upgrade to BO 4.x, you have to use Promotion Management which will always keep the CUID same after migration. Also, in recent versions, it is recommended to use CUID in opendocument links.

Hi Roger,

I think you could make use of the realtive path.

Which means that your url will start as below:

../../OpenDocument/...........................

Here the servername and port will be the one that you are currently logged to.

And moving from dev to prod the CUID of the report will not change.

Hope this helps.
