Hi Albert,

fo what kind of purpose do you planning to use this solution?

ArchiveLink is a very genetic interface. You can store incomming and ougoing documents with workflow, barcode scenarios, etc. and print lists too. (but no versioning etc.)

For ArchiveLink please check: ArchiveLink - SAP Library

For DMS: SAP Document Management System - Product Lifecycle Management - SCN Wiki

Best regards,

Okay I see.

please have a view on this site and the image under the "features" section: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/4c/fcc1f48d5d43f1e10000000a42189e/frameset.htm

as you can see KPro is a freamwork.

ArchiveLink using the KPro CMS layer to communicate with a content server

CA-DMS is suing the KPro's DMS layer, etc.

Do you need to connect these PDF files, etc to SAP business objects, like invoices, orders etc?

You'll use KPro anyways.

I'm working with ArchiveLink and GOS standard attachments, so I can explain only this 2 for you.

First let's take the GOS:

- in any application transaction (for example FB03, etc.) if you're user is a Dialog user, then you'll see a yellow icon in the top left corner next to the name of the transaction. click on this and you'll be able to attach any kind of document with the New -> Create Attachment service

Object Services Toolbox - Generic Object Services (BC-SRV-GBT) - SAP Library

These attachments are stored in the content repositry SOFFDB, which is using a table on your application server to store documents. But you can redirect it to store these in a http content repository. For this check note 1634908.

- for ArchiveLink you have to have some deeper knowladge on that with which business object will be GOS published from the application side. You have to carry out customizing in OAC3 for this. And then you can use the GOS service New -> Store business document.
