Viewing Log Files on Unix

Whenever I do development using VC I see messages saying Deployment failed see log files. To see I have to go to BASIS admin. Is there any easy way in Portal to get to the log files with no intervention from BASIS?

I know if you are an Administrator of the system then you can use all these tools. Visual Composer is used by a business analyst. Then how do you setup security for the business analyst. How can you give access to the business analyst?

As you say: a Business Analyst would not look into a log file and therefore there is no need to give him a LogViewer. This is the case where he goes to the admin.

Hi Michael, maybe you have the rights to access NetWeaver Administrator. Go to https://<yourhost>:<yourport>/NWA/

There you select "monitoring" and on the left side "Protocols and Traces". There you can select logs and use many filtering options. Only problem: it's sometimes quite slow and you cannot easily copy several entries.
