Kernel Upgrade in ECC6.0 using SWPM

Hi,

      I want to upgrade kernel using SWPM in Windows 2003 64 bit system.

      But when I'm start the sapinst of swpm there is no option for kernel upgrade.

      Please suggest if anybody knows.

Hello Vivek Gupta,

Please, note that SWPM can only be used for Installation, System Copy, System Rename and Dual-stack split, as described in SAP note:

1680045 - Release Note for Software Provisioning Manager 1.0 SP 08

In order to update your SAP Kernel, you must follow as described in SAP note:

19466 - Downloading SAP kernel patches

Hi Vivek,

You cannot use SWPM for kernel upgrade.

What is your existing kernel and NetWeaver release? Please make sure you downloaded the correct kernel packages. Also take a backup of existing kernel directory before applying the new kernel.

Here SL tool SWPM will not help you.
