Value Help for Data from R/3 System

Former Member

Hallo,

I have the Visual Composer for SAP NetWeaver 2004's and I want to use value help data provided from a R/3 System. I see the System in the Find Data Tab, but not in the Value Help Wizard.

How can I make the R/3 System available for the Wizard?

Matthias

Hi Mattias,

As I wrote in the thread

First, thanks Marcel for your quick answer.

In all these examples the value help is generated on a SAP BI system and not an R/3. Did you connect the R/3 as BI system in the portal?

What I want to do, is to use the search help in the R/3 system for the value help in the Visual Composer application. Is this possible?

Hi Matthias,

I'm working on a BI System, but it should similar in the R/3 system. If there is no data service for your value help available you can write your own as an ABAP RFC function module. You must know the table, where the data are stored in.

As a guide I can recommend my blog:

<a href="/people/marcel.salein/blog/2007/02/01/visual-composer-and-abap-rfcbapi-a-powerful-combination-part-i">/people/marcel.salein/blog/2007/02/01/visual-composer-and-abap-rfcbapi-a-powerful-combination-part-i</a>

It shows how-to use RFCs in Visual Composer. Then you have also define your system as a R/3 system.

Don't hesitate to ask me again.

Thanks for your help Marcel.

I hoped, I could use the search help directly, but no problem. I`ll do it this way.

Thanks for the link.

Best Regards,

Matthias
