Effect on PI Existing Scenarios When Java is Upgraded.

Hi Folks,

In my PI 7.0 Quality Server, JAVA is upgraded by basis. Will it effect any existing PI Scenarios in PI Quality. If Yes, Please suggest me any solution. why because they are also planning to do java upgradation for PI Production .

Hi Dileep,

Is your Basis team going to update the Service pack in PI 7.0 or are you going to move to an all new version of PI like PI 7.1 or 7.3 ?

If it is going to be a Service pack upgrade in PI 7.0, then there will be no impact on your mapping. If it is to an all new version of PI, then follow the below link for some inputs,

Thank you for the reply. But we are not migrating PI version to 7.1 or else. We are upgrading only the java in current version of PI 7.0 quality .

Will it effect any of the existing scenarios in PI Quality?

Hi Dileep,

For PI 7.0 - jdk1.5 would be fine.

But if you upgrade to the further releases it won't effect to the mappings but some of the java resources may not support.
