SRM 7.03 Order As Direct

Hi,

We're experiencing problems creating shopping carts from external
requirements (PReqs - order as direct) in our upgraded SRM 7.0 system. The
system creates a new shopping cart but it's in error status (I1112 -
Error in Transmission).

We've upgraded our SRM 5.0 ECS to SRM 7.0 EP3 level3.

On review of the shopping cart data via BBP_PD, we've discovered that the
system is trying to create a backend 'reservation'. The BBP_PDBEI-BE_OBJECT_TYPE
is being set to BUS2093 and assigned the new object id value.

This error does not happen when we change the quantity of a Preq and
transfer the change to the SRM system if the shopping cart for the associated
PReq was created before the SRM upgrade.

We suspect that it’s an upgrade issue but we’re not really sure. Has anyone
experienced this type of problem or maybe suggest where we could look to find
this problem code?

Hi Jerry,

Ideally in your system, you would expect this SC to go into SOCO?

May I know how you set up the following customizing?

- Define Objects in Backend System (Purch. Reqs, Reservations, Purch. Orders)

- Define Sourcing for Product Categories

Also what is your backend ERP version and SP?

All SCs are sourcing relevant.

Not sure if this is what you're asking for

I went to OSS as this problem as it's a show stopper for this client.

We carried out sum additional testing and it turns out it's only MRP items that seem to fail. The failure seems to be related to the system thinking it needs to create a backend reservation.

This was not the case in the 5.0 system we upgraded from.

The system levels are SRM_SERVER 71303 and SAP_APPL 61703.

Whats your current ECC version ?

What is the  value of ECC system type that you have maintained in the SPRO configuration- Define System landscape.

if possible can you please show us a screen of the above mentioned configuration.

HI Suresh,

Our ECC system is at SAP_APPL 617 level 0003.

Additional information about this problem is that the Shopping Cart errors occur only when the Purchase requisition is generated through MRP and it only happens with some materials, regardless of plant.

If a purchase requisition is manually created against one of the materials that failed with the Shopping Cart transfer error, the resulting shopping cart is created without errors.

We haven't been able to figure out why after the upgrade some fail while others don't.

As well, the ones that are failing, are being setup with a blank 'Sourcing Rel Ind' value and as previously mentioned, the BE_OBJECT_TYPE is set to BUS2093.

Does anyone know where in the processing cycle of creating a shopping cart from an external requirement the decision is made whether the item is sourcing relevant and when to set the BE_OBJECT_TYPE?
